This page explains how to request deletion of an account or personal data associated with an RVLWorks product, including Android applications distributed through Google Play.
Request account deletion
If the Product has a Delete Account option in its account, profile, privacy or settings screen, that is normally the fastest way to start deletion. If you cannot access the app, cannot find the control, or want to make the request from the web, you can contact RVLWorks directly.
Email an account deletion request
Send the request to contact@rvlworks.com and include:
- the name of the RVLWorks app or Product;
- the email address, username or other account identifier used with the Product;
- a clear statement that you want the account and associated personal data deleted; and
- any additional information reasonably necessary to identify the correct account.
For security, we may ask you to verify that you control the account or email address before completing deletion. Please do not send passwords, full payment-card details, government identity documents or other sensitive information unless we specifically request a proportionate verification method.
What happens after a verified request
After we verify a valid deletion request, we will delete or irreversibly anonymize the account and personal data associated with it from active systems, except for information that we are legally permitted or required to retain. Examples of limited retention can include:
- transaction, invoice or accounting records required by tax or commercial law;
- records needed to detect or prevent fraud, abuse or security incidents;
- information needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims; and
- temporary residual copies contained in secure system backups until those backups are overwritten or rotated in the ordinary course.
Information retained for one of these reasons is not kept for unrelated product use and is deleted or anonymized when the retention reason ends.
Deleting specific data without deleting an account
Some Products may let you delete individual content, history, save data or other information without deleting the entire account. Use the controls provided by the relevant Product where available, or email us and explain what you want deleted.
Uninstalling an app is not the same as deleting an account
Removing an application from your device normally removes local application data from that device according to the operating system’s behavior, but it does not necessarily delete an online account or server-side data. Use the in-app deletion option or the request method above if you want the account itself deleted.
Products without accounts
Some RVLWorks Products do not require or create an RVLWorks account. If there is no account, there may be no server-side account to delete. You can still contact us to ask whether RVLWorks holds personal data associated with your use of that Product and to request deletion where applicable.
App-store purchases
Deleting an RVLWorks account does not automatically delete your Google, Google Play, Steam or other third-party platform account, and it does not necessarily cancel a subscription billed by that platform. Manage store-billed subscriptions through the store account that processed the purchase. We may retain transaction identifiers or entitlement records when required for accounting, refund, fraud-prevention or legal purposes.
Timing
We aim to handle verified deletion requests without undue delay. Where the GDPR or another privacy law applies, we respond within the time period required by that law, subject to any lawful extension for complex requests. Technical deletion from backup systems may complete later through normal backup-rotation processes.
